The scope of writing prompts are far and wide in terms of sparking a student’s imagination. Often writing prompts have an embedded framework or structures in place to scaffold a child’s writing skills.

Set up a writing center or writer’s workshop in your classroom and provide a wide range of writing prompt topics so your students have ample opportunities to practice their writing skills. Writing is just that – a skill – that needs to continually practiced…no different to a skill such as bike riding or skateboarding.
