4 FUN WAYS TO TEACH GRAMMAR

Let’s face it…grammar is probably one of the trickiest aspects of language to teach because it requires explicit teaching and then daily integrated practice.

When teaching grammar, I always start with a fun grammar sorting activity. Like with all new activities, I teach it explicitly via my interactive

whiteboard so I can do my ‘think aloud’ and explain the learning in depth and state the expectations of the activity.

How to use this grammar activity:

  • Literacy Centers
  • Small group teacher-guided group (grammar focus)
  • Partner activity
  • Fast Finishers
  • Morning Work
  • Intervention
